Right to Play celebrating 10 years of programming

Right to Play, a FIS Partner and a humanitarian organization whose mission is to help disadvantaged children around the world, is celebrating its 10 years' programming anniversary during the month of November 2010. In 2000, Right To Play went from a fundraising body to an implementing organization that runs programs for children living in some of the world's most disadvantaged communities. In the past 10 years, it has grown from a collection of 15 people that shared vision of Johann Olav Koss into an international organization with more than 45 current projects in 20 countries and a staff of nearly 500 across four continents.

To celebrate these main milestones - 10 years, 21 countries and 1 million children - Right to Play is running a campaign to recognize the many people that advocate on behalf of Right To Play and for sport and play as a transformative tool of positive change. The campaign is also highlighting people who have developed and benefited from the organization through a special tribute on the Right to Play website. The many touching stories can also be followed through RTP's Twitter feed and on Facebook.

The partnership between Right To Play and FIS also passed the five-year mark last summer. It was in the summer of 2005 that the International Ski Federation and Right To Play came together to encourage the use of sport and play to support mutual goals of child and community development and health from within and through the sport of skiing.
