Ski Jumping season underway at all levels

The Ski Jumping season is fully on its way. Besides the Bauhaus FIS World Cup season that started in Kuusamo and Lillehammer, the men's and ladies' Continental Cup tours are now in full swing too.

To replace the wind-related cancellation of the Bauhaus FIS Ski Jumping World Cup competitions from Harrachov (CZE) last weekend, an additional competition will take place in Engelberg (SUI), on Friday, 17th December 2010. The regularly scheduled two competitions will be carried out according to the original plan on Saturday and Sunday.

The second cancelled competition from Harrachov (CZE) will be rescheduled after the Four-Hills-Tournament and several National Ski Associations respectively Organizers have already applied to host this competition.

In the men's Ski Jumping Continental Cup, Vikersund (NOR) saw a strong German team capture a double victory in one event, with Kim Rene Elverum Sorsell of Norway claiming a win in the other competition.

The ladies' Continental Cup in Ski Jumping in Vikersund was dominated by Daniela Iraschko, the 27-year-old Austrian, who celebrated another two victories, and is now leading in the overall ranking 120 points ahead of Jessica Jerome (USA). Defending world champion Lindsey Van (USA) is in 3rd.

The men's Continental Cup will continue in Erzurum (TUR) this weekend whilst the ladies will be competing in Notodden (NOR) on Friday and Saturday.
