FIS / DOPPELMAYR MEDIA INFO: FIS and Doppelmayr/Garaventa extend partnership

Oberhofen (SUI), 1st December, 2008/-- The International Ski Federation (FIS) and the Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group have agreed an extension of their partnership for further two seasons up to and including the 2009/2010 ski season. Through the agreement, Doppelmayr/Garaventa carries the label of the "Official FIS Product Partner" in the field of ropeway engineering. The agreement is effective immediately and includes the option for further two years after 2010.

The Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group, the world quality and technology leader in ropeway engineering, has built an excellent reputation through successful delivery of almost 14'000 installations in 80 countries and a long-term engagement for the benefit of ski sports. Through the partnership, FIS and Doppelmayr/Garaventa will work together to promote further development in the area of ropeways in order to ensure implementation of latest technologies, to meet the needs of FIS and its partners as well as to fulfill the changing legal requirements.

Reflecting on the cooperation, FIS President Gian Franco Kasper stated: "We look forward to the continuing partnership with the Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group. For FIS, it is important to help our member National Ski Associations, their Local Organizing Committees and partnering ski resorts gain access to the latest know-how and technology in ropeway engineering.

Doppelmayr/Garaventa recently announced highly satisfactory results for the
2007/2008 business year with Austria as the strongest single market and key successes in the European Alpine countries, North America and the emerging markets of Eastern, Central and Southeastern Europe. It also added further 'world firsts' to its long list. The latest achievements include the first gondola lifts with seat heating in Ischgl and Zell am See, and the first gondola lift with sauna cabin in Finland.
