FIS MEDIA INFO: Nüssli becomes official FIS PartnerOberhofen and Hüttwilen/Lyss (SUI), 11th March, 2008/-- The International Ski Federation (FIS) and Nüssli, a leading supplier of temporary infrastructures, today announced a new cooperation whereby Nüssli will become an official “FIS Partner.” The three-year agreement is effective immediately and covers the FIS World Cup events and FIS World Championships. Under the agreement, Nüssli will make available its long-term experience and technical know-how in planning and implementing temporary infrastructures to FIS event organizers. Nüssli will work to promote highest quality solutions tailored to the organizers' needs, in particular grandstands, platforms, stages and podiums. Special focus will be paid to designing creative solutions incorporating the latest innovations. “FIS is paying increasing attention to the quality of organization around the field of play. We are proud to partner with Nüssli that is well-known for its technical expertise and substantial experience as existing supplier of several FIS World Cup organizers, as well as the 2003 and 2005 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and several editions of the Olympic Winter Games,” said FIS President Gian Franco Kasper. “We look forward to working with Nüssli to benefit our organizers in their efforts to continuously improve the on-site experience for all event participants.” Nüssli has collected substantial experience in alpine winter sports, both as planner and as project executor. For the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2003 in St. Moritz, the organizing committee commissioned Nüssli with the planning of all temporary infrastructures. These included the finish area consisting of a grandstand with 5000 seats, platforms for media/TV, a large-scale village and various tent and logistical constructions. In downtown St. Mortiz, Nüssli transformed the swimming pool into a press center and the tennis center into the international broadcasting center (IBC). Nüssli was also in charge of preparing a master plan, pre-project planning, and actual implementation at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2005 in Bormio and St. Caterina (ITA). The temporary infrastructures with grandstands, press center, VIP hospitality and technical constructions were built partially in very challenging terrain. The strength of the Nüssli concepts in these projects, as in others, was to make optimal use of the existing facilities augmented where necessary with temporary infrastructures. * * * About FIS * * * About Nüssli |
