FIS FACT SHEET: FIS World Cup Prize Money for Season 2008/09

According to the International Competition Rules article 219.1, the FIS Council confirmed the values of prize money for the 2008/2009 FIS World Cup season in its Autumn Meeting held in November 2007. The values will remain the same as for the previous season. In Nordic Combined an overall World Cup prize money pool is introduced to be distributed at the World Cup finals.

• Audi FIS Alpine World Cup events:
Minimum cash prize per event: CHF 100'000.- divided between 1 - 10
Minimum cash prize for European Cup events: CHF 2'300.- divided between 1 - 10

• Viessmann FIS World Cup Cross-Country events:
Minimum cash prize for individual events: CHF 40'000.- divided between 1 - 10
Minimum cash prize for relay events: CHF 30'000.- divided between 1 - 6

For the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski, a special prize money formula continues to apply.

In addition, the amount of CHF 2'500.- per competition (CHF 5'000.- per competition day for both ladies and men) shall be paid by the event organizers in an "overall pool" that will be distributed at the FIS World Cup Finals for 1st-6th place ranked athletes in the season's final overall FIS World Cup standings along with the Rookie of the Year (best U-23 athlete).

• FIS World Cup Ski Jumping events:
Minimum cash prize per event: CHF 70'000.- divided between 1 - 10
Minimum cash prize per double event: CHF 70'000.- divided between 1-10
Minimum cash prize per team event: CHF 70'000.- divided between 1-3
Minimum cash prize for Continental Cup events: CHF 1'500.- divided between 1-6

• DKB FIS World Cup Nordic Combined events:
Minimum cash prize per event: CHF 32'500.- divided between 1 - 10
Minimum cash prize per team event: CHF 20'000.- divided between 1 - 6

• FIS Freestyle World Cup events:
Minimum cash prize per event: 15'000.- divided between 1 - 10

• LG Snowboard FIS World Cup events:
Minimum cash prize per event: CHF 25'000.- divided between 1 - 10
