„I was lucky to have a good race and a good result. I was just hoping to fight for a podium position. I was a little bit surprised that me and Didrik were fighting for the win.“Sjur Roethe

Sjur Roethe and Didrik Toenseth battled through many of the splits of today's 15 km F at the World Cup in Lillehammer. Roethe pushed his strong performance over the last stretch of the course and ended up on the top of the podium, 6.0 seconds before Toenseth. Young Russian Denis Spitsov took the last spot on the podium on the challenging tracks of Lillehammer.

For Sjur Roethe it's the second win at a World Cup race since the 50 km at Holmenkollen in Oslo 2015.

„The shape was really good, I felt very strong in skating. I think it’s the first time that I felt strong in skating so that was cool. I think it with this hard course today it’s definitely good to be light weight"Didrik Toenseth
