Results National Championships 2021

In Finland, Russia, Switzerland, Italy and France, the national Championships are in the books. Sweden’s nationals are scheduled from 8th to 11th April. Find below the overview and links to result lists of the respective events.
Finland
10km/15km in C, a Relay competitionas well as 30km/50km F were on the menu for Finland’s National Championships on 26th to 28th March. Ristijärvi near Vuokatti set the stage for the distance competitions that delivered the titles of National Champions. Krista Pärmäkoski proved once again her dominance in the Finnish team as a Classic expert and won before Johanna Matintalo and Anne Kyllonen.
In the mens distance race, Iivo Niskanen was untouchable and takes the title before Ristomatti Hakola and Perttu Hyvärinen.
For Sundays long distance competitions it was Riita-Liisa Roponen, the 42 year-old bronze medallist of the Finnish Relay Team of Oberstdorf, who took the victory before Anne Kyllonen and Krista Pärmäkoski.In the mens race, Iivo Niskanen repeated his victory with a clear margin of 5.40 minutes before Kari Varis and Ristaomatti Hakola.
Russia
In Tyumen, «the pearl of Siberia» stadium hosts the Russian Nationals. The Russian Ski Team celebrates the season end with a full schedule of competitions on two weekends.
From 27th to 30th March, a Sprint C, Skiathlon and 10m/15km F competitions were run. The grand finals with the prestigious 30km C and 50km C await on Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th April.
After her hand surgery, Natalia Nepryaeva reported back on course and took the victory in the Sprint C before Tatiana Sorina and Yulia Stupak. In the mens race, Alexander Bolshunov once more took over the control and started his Nationals with a victory in Sprint before Alexander Terentev and Evgeniy Belov.
On the second competition day, Tatiana Sorina took over the pace setting role and took a clear victory with a margin of 30.7 seconds to Natalia Nepryaeva, followed by Maria Istomina. Ivan Yakimushkin tried to get hold of Alexander Bolshunov in the mens race but did not manage to come closer than 47 seconds to the dominating Overall and Distance World Cup winner. With a close finish, Yakimuskin finishes as vice national champion, 0.1 seconds before Andrey Larkov.
On Tuesday, the long distance competitions of 10km and 15km F saw Tatiana Sorina take repeat her victory with 35 seconds before Maria Istomina and Anastasia Rygalina. Artem Maltsev took his chances for victory in the 15km before Ivan Yakimushkin and Andrey Larkov repeat their podium spots from the Skiathlon.
Wednesdays Teamsprint in Free technique saw team Tyumen region with Tatiana Sorina and Ekaterina Smirnova as well as team Arkhangelsk region with Alexander Terentyev and Alexander Bolshunov take the titles.
The final competitions of a strenuos race weekend was scheduled with Relays on Friday 2nd April and the crowing 30km/50km C Mst on Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th April.
Again, team Tyumen region took a clear victory in the womens Relay with athletes Olga Kucheruk, Tatiana Sorina, Ekaterina Smirnova and Anna Grukhvina. The mens Relay title was won by team with Alexander Terentyev, Alexander Grebenko, Alexey Shemyakin and anchor Alexander Bolshunov.
With a strong performance on Saturday, 24 year-old Mariya Istomina celebrated her victory at 30km C, 40 seconds ahead on Anastasia Rygalina and Ekaterina Smirnova. The mens crowning title was taken by Ilya Semikov before Alexey Shemyakin and Andrey Sobakarev.
Switzerland
From 26th to 28th March, the village of Sedrun hosted the Swiss Nationals in Cross-Country skiing. For the Sprint C long distance competitions and Team Sprints, the German National team had travelled to Switzerland and gave the Swiss Championships an international touch.
On Friday, the womens Sprint final therefore consisted of 4 German and 2 Swiss, whereas Nadine Fähndrich and Laura Gimmler got tangled up and could not catch up with the remaining contenders. The “last Swiss women standing” in the finals was Laurien van der Graaff who also claimed the victory and the title of Swiss Champion. The mens finals was paced by Dario Cologna who had his Sprint expert colleagues in his back. Jovian Hediger and Beda Klee took their chances in the final uphill where the 24 year-old Klee managed to pass Hediger on the final stretch and claims the Swiss Champions title.
Saturdays 30km/50km C mass start took place on the same course at the same time, with the starting blocks time-shifted. This set-up allowed the athletes to follow and get paced by a faster group and mixed up all genders and ages.
In the mens leading group, it was again Dario Cologna who managed to pull away and claims his title 57 seconds before Jason Rüesch. In the womens race, Laura Gimmler from Germany increased the pace halfway into her race and left her successors behind. Gimmler wins with a clear margin of 1.29 min before Nadine Fähndrich who claims the official title of Swiss Champion.
On Sunday, the Swiss Nationals concluded with the Teamsprint in Free technique which was won by the duo Anja Weber & Siri Wigger as well as Ueli Schnider & Erwan Käser.

Italy
At Passo Cereda, the Italian Ski Federation held the National and Youth Championships. After triumphing in the 15km C, Federico Pellegrino doubled up his Italian title with Sundays 50km long distance race. This years Sprint World Cup winner takes his victory in a close finish sprint against Giandomenico Salvadori. Third on the podium raced Mirco Bertolina. In the womens 30km the 23 year-old Francesca Franchi takes the title before Ilaria Debertolis and Elisa Brocard.
France
On 27th March, Contamines hosted the distance competitions which was won by Enora Latuilliere before Lena Quintin and Delpine Claudel in third place. The title of the mens mass start was taken by Richard Jouve before Renaud Jay and Valentine Hot.
The second competitions day was scheduled with a Sprint in Classic technique. Lena Quintin doubled up on her success and takes the Sprint title before Enora Latuilliere and Delpine Claudel. In the mens senior classifications, Valentin Chauvin takes the Sprint title before Jules Chappaz and Tom Mancini.
Austria
Ramsau am Dachstein hosted the Austrian Championships. Distance expert and national team member Teresa Stadlober took a clear, expected victory at the 15km F Mst before Anna Juppe and Sandra Schützová (from Czech Republic).
In the mens competition, Petr Knop and Tomas Lukes from Czech Republic took the victories but the title of National Champion was delivered to Austia’s Philipp Leodolter who raced to the third position.
