For this year’s finals of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Planica, OC has prepared an exclusive and limited collection of unique hand drawn portraits of the best ski jumpers in the world uniting ski jumping fans and NFT fanatics all over the globe.
Planica has always been a place for historic events and this year it will be no different. Fans will not be only watching, cheering and celebrating, now they can very easily become a part of our great ski jumping sports community.
This is the first project of its kind in collaboration with the International Ski Federation and is entirely the fruit of Slovenian ideas, knowledge and implementation.
A week earlier before the official start of Planica, from 18th March until the end of the competition, anyone will be able to participate and bid for the digital artworks: the PLANICA NFT SKI JUMPERS COLLECTION 2022. NFTs are an exceptional collector's opportunity for the committed sports enthusiasts who will want a unique piece from our Planica 2022 collection.
Projects creators aim with the collections is to help the sport and to give something back to the athletes. All funds raised during the auction will be donated back to the sport — 33% directly to the athletes as a reward, 33% to their national ski associations for development of young talents, and 33% to the organizing committee of Planica for development of the sport.
To date, more than 50 illustrations of athletes have been gathered in the collection.
What are NFT collectibles?
Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are the latest cryptocurrency phenomenon to go mainstream. In the simplest terms, NFTs transform digital works of art and other collectibles into one-of-a-kind, verifiable assets that are easy to trade on the blockchain. NFTs are unique and not mutually interchangeable, which means no two NFTs are alike.
