The Para World Ski Championships for Alpine and Nordics are well underway in the host cities of Oestersund (SWE) and Espot (ESP).
In Espot, weather played the role of spoiler for the first three days of action as athletes had their patience tested waiting to get on the slopes for the first gold medal events.
But once the skies clears, optimal conditions awaited the athletes and already two full medal days have been staged with the super-G an Alpine Combined in the books. Athletes are competing in three different categories, Sitting, Standing and Vision Impaired.
The action will continue in Spain through the end of the weekend.
In Oestersund, everything has been running on schedule as the Swedish venue has offered up a variety of conditions from crispy cold, to above freezing temperatures, forcing athletes to pull out all the stops to earn a medal.
So far the Cross Country medals have been awarded in the 18km classic discipline and the fan favorite sprint competitions.
Much like in Espot, the action in Oestersund will continue through the weekend with biathlon races also included on the schedule.
