23 free skiers and snowboarders from nine nations worked on their skills last week in Landgraaf (NED) as part of a FIS Development Programme Training Camp in park and pipe. The participants benefitted from the excellent indoor facilities of SnowPark which is gearing up for FIS Europa Cup competitions in slopestyle this November.
A professional gym, a climbing park, a skate park and a trampoline park provided excellent additions to the extensive on-snow training. Furthermore, the athletes and coaches took part in various workshops on topics including training scheduling, waxing and judging.
The aim of the six-day camp was to improve developing ski and snowboard nations’ knowledge and competences to advance the sports in these nations.
“It was amazing to see both athletes and coaches working together so well by exchanging information and having a good time in such an international group. We wish them great success as they return home with new techniques and skills”, commented Camp Coordinator Martijn Oostijk.
Participating nations: BUL, ESP, EST, GEO, GRE, LAT, LTU, MKD, SRB
