From 16th-20th September 2017, Rasnov (ROU) staged a FIS Development Programme Training Camp for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined.
35 girls and boys and 16 coaches from eight nations (Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Slovakia, Ukraine and host Romania) benefitted from the expert advice of Sandro Sambugaro, a former ski jumper, who led the group.
The young athletes had the chance to train on the hill of Rasnov, which served as perfect preparation for the FIS Cup, Continental and Carpathian Cup competitions which took place there at the end of the camp from 20th-24th September.
Camp Coordinator Sandro Pertile commented: “The participants trained extremely hard to improve their strength and technique. We were very pleased with the progress made which could be observed at the FIS competitions following the camp. A visit to the Bran (dracula) castle provided everyone with the opportunity to socialise outside of training. We wish the teams much success for the upcoming season.”
