FIS and Session Games announce mobile game partnership: From mobile to mountain top

FIS and Session Games Inc. are pleased to announce an exclusive mobile games partnership. Vancouver-based Session Games is a leading producer of action sports games for iOS and Android devices. Over 27 million people have now downloaded and played games like Snowboarding the Fourth Phase, Red Bull Air Race The Game, Bike Unchained, and new for this winter: Red Bull Free Skiing.

“Session brings an excellent pedigree in the world of mobile games. They have a clear passion for skiing and snowboarding, and a strong knowledge that is sure to move FIS ahead in this rapidly expanding and exciting arena. We look forward to providing our fans with an entirely new online experience.” said Jürg Capol, FIS Marketing Director.

Ian Verchere is a co-founder of Session, and CEO: “Before I became a game developer, I skied professionally for many years. As an alpine coach, I set many FIS slalom and GS courses in Western Canada. I’m excited to now have the chance to set FIS courses in our skiing and snowboarding games. We’re thrilled to be partnering with FIS, as we work together to introduce new audiences to the fun of skiing and snowboarding through mobile games.”

FIS and Session share a goal to grow participation in skiing and snowboarding. Mobile games offer anyone with a smartphone the chance to virtually experience a range of snow activities such as boarding deep powder, performing amazing slopestyle tricks, and being the fastest skier down the course, in a race against your friends, or in competition against players around the world. Hopefully someone making their first turns or pulling their first trick playing on their mobile will be inspired to try skiing or snowboarding for in person, and someday find their way from their mobile to the top of the mountain, and a lifetime of enjoyment.

Expect to hear more in the coming months from FIS and Session Games about this exciting and innovative partnership.
