FIS Athletes’ Commission 2017-2019

Eleven athletes were elected to the FIS Athletes’ Commission 2017-2019 by their peers during the FIS World Championships 2017 for a two-year term.

The official announcement of the members who will represent the athletes within FIS was made following the FIS Council Meeting on 28th May 2017 and includes:

Sarah Hendrickson (USA)
Andreas Stjernen (NOR)

Nordic Combined
Maxime Laheurte (FRA) (re-elected)

Alpine Skiing
Daniela Merighetti (ITA) (re-elected)
Hannes Reichelt (AUT) (re-elected)

Freestyle Skiing
Hannah Kearney (USA)
Alex Fiva (SUI) (re-elected)

Alena Zavarzina (RUS)
Konstantin Schad (GER) (re-elected)

The newly elected Athletes’ Commission will be carrying on the successful work of the previous Commission, whose term came to an end this spring after two years of service.

Konstantin Schad will chair the Commission

During its first meeting on 25th May in Portoroz, the Athletes’ Commission appointed Konstantin Schad (Snowboard), who has served as a member of the Commission for the past four years, as its Chairperson. Hannah Kearney (Freestyle), who newly joined the Commission, was named Vice-Chair.
