A FIS delegation of six FIS Race Directors and Coordinators from different disciplines visited the PistenBully factory last week to exchange information about different topics and future initiatives. On location in Laupheim close to Ulm were FIS Marketing Director Jürg Capol, Freestyle Skiing Coordinator Joe Fitzgerald, Cross-Country Race Director Assistant Michal Lamplot, Snowboard Race Director Uwe Beier, Cross Race Director JP Baralo and FIS Alpine Continental Cup Coordinator Peter Gerdol. They were welcomed by Stefan Lux, Thilo Vogelsang, Harald Schmidt and Werner Seethaler of PistenBully.
Jürg Capol: “The workshop intensified the cooperation with an important partner in snow preparation. PistenBully has amassed experienced in the last 50 years producing preparation vehicles. The digitalisation of data will enable an even better snow preparation in the future.”
The FIS engagement in China and Pistenbully’s PRO ACADEMY were two of the important topics as well as the usage of SNOWsat in the ski and boardercross disciplines.
The different FIS and PistenBully initiatives to “bring children to the snow” were another main point on the agenda. The constructive exchange between the partners addressing different projects will intensify in the future.
