Last weekend in Chaikovsky (RUS), superstar Sara Takanashi (JPN) flew to the overall title of the ladies’ FIS Ski Jumping Grand Prix 2017 after dominating both individual competitions. Winning three out of five competitions this summer and claiming 380 points, the 20-year old has once again has proven that she is the ‘Queen of Summer’ as she has won every Grand Prix title since its premiere in 2012.
Irina Avvakumova (RUS) and Maren Lundby (NOR) came second and third in the overall rankings with 290 and 276 points, respectively.
At the men’s events in Chaikovsky, Anze Lanisek (SLO) was the surprise champion of the weekend. He claimed his maiden Grand Prix victories by finishing first in both individual competitions.
Before the final FIS Ski Jumping Grand Prix events in Hinzenbach (AUT) and Klingenthal (GER), Lanisek leads the overall rankings with 331 points, followed by Junshiro Kobayashi (JPN, 314 points) and Dawid Kubacki (POL, 300 points).
