FIS Telemark World Championships ahead in La Plagne

Next week, the world’s best Telemark skiers will battle for medals at the 11th edition of the FIS Telemark World Championships in Montchavin-la Plagne (FRA) from 14h -19th March 2017.

Some 70 athletes from 12 nations will battle in four events including the classic, sprint classic, the parallel sprint, and team parallel sprint. The talented field of athletes features a number of dominant forces, including Tobias Mueller (GER), Philippe Lau (FRA) and Amelie Reymond (SUI).

Meanwhile, in Rjukan (NOR), the FIS Telemark Junior World Championships took place from 1st-3rd March with competitions in classic, sprint classic, the parallel sprint, and team parallel sprint together with FIS World Cup races for the senior athletes.

On the ladies‘ side, Kathrin Reischmann (GER) was the most successful junior athlete with two individual gold medals in the classic and parallel sprint events. Kristian Gjelstad (NOR) took the men’s gold in sprint and silver in classic.
