Important information for Congress participants

In less than two weeks, the extended FIS family will travel to Greece for the 51st International Ski Congress from 13th-19th May 2018.

Transfer from the Airport – Arrival Information

FIS and FIS Travel staff together with representatives of the Hellenic Winter Sports Federation will welcome Congress participants who have communicated their arrival times at Athens airport.

Transfer is not included in the Congress package from the airport (Athens/Kalamata) to/from Costa Navarino as the conditions are different from the two airports, and transportation could be booked additionally through FIS Travel Service. Many participants have made own arrangements to reach Costa Navarino so we would like to draw your attention to some important travel information:

Transfer times:
Athens – Costa Navarino: 4 hours
Kalamata – Costa Navarino: 1 hour

Self-Driving:
Greece has a toll roads system which means toll booths are found on the motorway - like national roads or Ethniki Odos, which are designed for quick, long-distance travel throughout Greece.

Between Athens Airport and Costa Navarino the total cost for toll stations is around 20 Euros which must be paid using coins.

For participants who have not yet organised their travel to Costa Navarino, FIS Travel will be present at Athens airport during all times of flight arrivals that have been communicated. It is however recommended to contact them prior to departure, as no service can be guaranteed at this stage. Please contact FIS Travel Service Deputy Manager Caroline Ris (ris@fisski.com).

Congress Location

The Westin Resort Costa Navarino consists of two hotels: The Westin Hotel and the Romanos Hotel. The two properties are linked with a distance of approximately 200 metres. It is recommended to download the Costa Navarino App to get familiarised with the resort.
