There is just one month to go before the Opening Ceremony of the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships on 7th March, and the final preparations are being made for what will be the biggest celebration of skiing and snowboarding on the calendar this winter.
Over 200 regional companies and communities have signed up to promote the 2017 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti (FIN) prior to and during the event. Together, they are building a unique atmosphere, presenting their services, specialities and offers to World Championship visitors.
Special activities within this programme include a Sauna day, ice fishing, a Lahti city race and an extreme challenge. Click here for further information.
Meanwhile, in a recent design workshop organised by the Lahti University of Applied Sciences and its Institute of Design and Fine Arts, old skis have been turned into lamps, benches and other decorations.
The Organisers are inviting everyone to take part in a challenge and win a special Lahti 2017 lamp. The competition is open until Saturday, 11th February on the official Facebook page.
