The 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang (KOR) have come to a close. For FIS, it was the biggest Olympics to date with a total of 50 gold medals awarded. The IOC added two new competitions in the FIS disciplines to the Olympic programme, introducing the world to the excitement of snowboard big air and the alpine team event.
”Our additions to the Olympic programme in PyeongChang proved to be quite successful. The Snowboard big air venue and competitions captured the world’s attention, while the team event showcased a new format of Alpine Skiing to the Olympic audience,” said FIS President Gian Franco Kasper.
