Meet the new FIS Council Members: Steve Dong Yang (CHI)

Steve Dong Yang (*1974) was elected to the FIS Council at the recently concluded Congress in Costa Navarino (GRE). He is also Vice-President of the Chinese Ski Association, a post he has held since 2017. 

Yang graduated from Beijing Sport University with a major in sports administration. He started his work at the Chinese Ski Association in 1997 before becoming the Deputy Secretary General of International Relations and competitions in 2004. 

After eight years with the Chinese Skating Association as the Figure Skating Director from 2006, he returned to the Chinese Ski Association as the Director of Freestyle Ski & Snowboard. In 2015, Yang became a member of FIS Freestyle Skiing Committee, and then was promoted to be the Vice-Chair of the FIS Snowboard Freestyle Freeski Committee two years later.
