Nordic Combined youth competitions start in Vuokatti and Klingenthal

The Nordic Combined juniors are gearing up for another important season. Vuokatti (FIN) will play host to the first FIS Youth Cup competitions from 3rd-5th August followed by an OPA Alpencup event in Klingenthal (GER) on 6th and 7th August.

In Vuokatti, 20 boys and girls born from five nations are set to compete on the HS 54 hill, joined by five athletes born between 2006-2010, who will compete in an open international event on the HS 32 hill.

In addition to the competitions the young athletes will have the chance to participate in social activities, including the traditional swimming, sauna and barbecue get together at the Vuokatti sports complex. Their stay in Finland will also include training sessions featuring practice on the jumping hills, rollerski tracks and in the ski tunnel.

Meanwhile in Klingenthal, the Nordic Combined ladies will have the chance to compete as part of the ladies’ Ski Jumping Alpen Cup. 21 female Nordic Combined athletes born between 1998-2004 are entered to jump on the upgraded HS 85 hill followed by a 3km run at the Waldhotel Vogtland.
