Sir John Ritblat celebrates 40 years sponsoring British Skiing

A leading businessman for more than half a century, Sir John Ritblat, became the longest serving supporter of a British sport this year during the British Alpine Ski Championships in Tignes (FRA).

This year marks his fortieth year involved with the sponsorship of British ski racing. The ski enthusiast has dedicated the majority of his life to supporting snow sports, and in his 83rd year he is still incredibly nifty on the piste, skiing alongside the top British athletes including Olympian and World Cup podium slalom specialist Dave Ryding.

As the former Chairman of the then largest property company in the country British Land, Sir John has provided significant funding for the sport. He also helped to establish the governing body for all British snow sport athletes, which is now known as The British Ski and Snowboard Federation.

The current Principal Sponsor of British Ski and Snowboard is now Delancey, a real estate investment and advisory company. Sir John is Chairman of the company Advisory Board founded by his son, Jamie Ritblat. After forty years of sponsorship and long term President of British Ski and Snowboard, he is confident the sport is heading for further exceptional progress.
