FIS Newsflash in collaboration with the Olympic Channel re-lives the most memorable moments from the past Games in Sochi (RUS) just over weeks until the start of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Korea.
In the Olympic debut of ski slopestyle, Joss Christensen (USA) made history when he won the first-ever Olympic gold medal awarded in the event.
What made the win even sweeter is that Christensen was an underdog going into the Olympics, who had not qualified for the U.S. Olympic team outright but was the one discretionary selection on the team.
Christensen shared the podium with two teammates, Gus Kenworthy and Nick Goepper. It was the third time in Winter Olympics history that U.S. athletes claimed all three medals in the same event.
