After the big success of the Raw Air premiere last winter, the second edition of the popular series as part of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup presented by Viessmann gets underway this weekend.
From 9th-18th March, four different venues in Norway – Oslo, Trondheim, Lillehammer and Vikersund – will hold six competitions (four individual and two team events).
What is special is the fact that qualification results as well as team results will count for the overall ranking. The points scored in each event will be added up for every athlete and determine the overall winner. There is no time to rest = Raw Air.
Also special is the amount of prize money: The overall Raw Air winner will receive EUR 60,000 in prize money. The second and third placed athletes in the overall ranking will receive EUR 30,000 and EUR 10,000, respectively. This means total prize money of EUR 100,000 will be awarded in addition to the prize money paid out at each of the World Cup competitions (CHF 71,800 (individual events), CHF 70,000 (team events)).
Last year, Stefan Kraft (AUT) took the overall win and the Raw Air Trophy ahead of Kamil Stoch (POL) and Andreas Wellinger (GER).
