Biggest surprise

Red Gerard stomped the run of his life to win a surprise gold in snowboard slopestyle. After falling on his first two runs, he threw down a near-perfect final run that earned him first place.

At the age of 17, Gerard became the youngest Olympian to medal in snowboarding, and the youngest American man to win Olympic gold in 90 years.

Favourite behind the scenes story

The chef at a local restaurant in PyeongChang is a big fan of snowboarder Shaun White, going so far as to name a burger on the menu after him – so White had to stop in and try it for himself.
