The Snowboard, Freestyle, and Freeski Committee meetings saw the continuation of the positive developments since the harmonised group was first put into motion one year ago.
The Committee laid out five key points to be considered in all aspects of developments, with those five pillars being Safety, Unity, Sustainability, Risk Taking (in endeavours), and Influence. With those five considerations, as well as a commitment to increased partnerships and cooperation with interested parties, the autumn meetings in Zurich showed that the eyes of the Committee are firmly set on fresh success in the seasons to come.
There are a total of 90 competitions spread across the FIS Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding calendars for the 2017/18 World Cup season (including the successful season kick-offs that took place in September in the southern hemisphere). Snowboarding will see 44 World Cup competitions this season, while there will be 46 competitions on the Freestyle circuits.
