Zongyang JIA

While picking a favorite from the deep and talented pool of Chinese aerialists may seem a moot point when one glances at a list of the different athletes who have won recent World Cup events for the team, over the last several seasons Jia Zongyang has emerged as the strongest of a strong bunch.

Zongyang made his World Cup debut on home soil at Adventure Mountain, CHN, in 2008. Exactly one year later, also on home soil, he claimed both his first podium and his first victory, in Changchun.

Since then, Zongyang has shown remarkable consistency, placing outside of the top-10 in only nine out of 25 career World Cup starts, while also scoring nine victories and 13 podiums in that time.

And while he struggled towards the end of last season, finishing well outside of the top-10 in his last three events, his strong performance at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games where he earned the bronze medal showed that when he is on his game, he is still one of the top two or three aerialists in the world.
