From 20th – 23rd September 2019, the FIS, FIS Travel Service organising team and the FIS World Championship Candidates 2024/25 carried out their customary Congress inspection at the Royal Cliff Resort (THA), where the FIS Congress will take place from 17th -23rd May 2020.
The delegations from Harrachov (CZE), Krasnoyarsk (RUS), Trondheim (NOR), Crans Montana (SUI), Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) and Saalbach (AUT) together with FIS Travel Service and FIS representatives were warmly welcomed by the professional Royal Cliff Resort management and convention staff, together with the President, Secretary General and representatives of the Ski and Snowboard Association of Thailand.
During the two days, a packed programme involved a reconnaissance tour of the expansive resort and thorough inspection of the facilities to finalise the set-up of the World Championship Candidate Exhibition. Located very close to all the Committee Meetings the Candidates will showcase their concepts to all Congress participants from Monday 18th– Wednesday 20thMay 2020 and offer them their local speciality refreshments from their stands as has become a welcome tradition.
Another key element during the preparation visit to Royal Cliff was the official meeting with FIS and the Candidates to address the process until the election itself, including promotional activities and the details regarding the presentation to the FIS Council on Tuesday 19th May. The announcement of the elected FIS World Championship Organisers 2024 and 2025 will take place on 21st May.
