Starting from this season 2019-2020, FIS Freestyle, Freeski and Snowboard events will be available via livestream in all countries where the media rights to the events have not been acquired by an exclusive broadcaster. Beginning with this weekend’s competitions in Cardrona (NZL), live streams will be available on the FIS YouTube channels to enable global media coverage for the events.

While this means that streams will be geo-blocked in markets including Austria, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA, all interested spectators from territories without coverage can look forward to being able to access the streams.
This includes many African, Asian and South American countries but also European territories like Belarus, Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Turkey and the Ukraine.
In cooperation with Infront, the initiative is part of the ambitious FIS digital strategy, which aims to widen the access to ski and snowboard events beyond the traditional winter sports countries to all persons who can access the internet, rather than the current status that restricts viewership by media rights ownership.
