Supported by the FIS Solidary Fund, the Icelandic Ski Federation held two training camps for young athletes in all disciplines in Reykjavik and Akureryi in August and September 2018. 40 athletes and four to five coaches each joined the four-day camps that featured six different training sessions plus lectures.
Themes included strength and running, and the Cross-Country group had roller ski sessions as well and were supported by a Norwegian Cross-Country national team trainer. Coaches from other disciplines joined the camps from all over Iceland. Lectures featured topics like sports physiology and the importance of sleep.
