FIS Speed Ski World Cup Season starts in Salla (FIN)

On 13th February, the 2019 FIS World Cup Speed Ski season is set to begin with races in Salla (FIN) after the first scheduled races in Idre Fjäll (SWE) were postponed until March due to lack of snow.

Similar to all other FIS disciplines, also the FIS Speed Ski athletes had to battle varying conditions in their pre-season trainings, as lack of snow, too much snow or even snow storms made preparations and training camps difficult.

Nevertheless, the athletes will set out to follow in last year’s overall winners Simone Origone (ITA) and teammate Valentina Greggio,’s footsteps. After Salla, the World Cup will continue in Idre Fjäll (SWE), with two events in Vars (FRA) and with the World Cup finals in Grandvalira/Grau Roig (AND).
