Olympic Summit held in Lausanne

At the invitation of the International Olympic Committee, the leading representatives of the Olympic Movement met in Lausanne for the 7th Olympic Summit.The Olympic Summit involves the leading representatives of the Olympic Movement. It forms part of the ongoing dialogue and consultation on important issues and subjects of significance for the future of the Olympic Movement.

FIS President Gian Franco Kasper was present in his role as President of the AIOWF (Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations), alongside his colleagues of the ASOIF, ANOC, IPC and GAISF, Francesco Ricci Bitti, Robin Mitchell, Andrew Parsons and Raffaele Chiulli, while WADA President Craig Reedie joined over the phone to give a report about the World Anti-Doping Code revisions and WADA governance issues.

Main issues under discussion in the summit were the Athletes’ Rights and Responsibilities Declaration, progress on the International Testing Agency (ITA), good governance, multi-sports events and the sports calendar, the allocation of international sports events and the right of athletes to compete without discrimination and the approach of the Olympic Movement to esports/egames.
