FIS was saddened to learn of the sudden and unexpected passing of Wolfgang Schlüter, longstanding Chief of Hill at the Viessmann FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Willingen (GER). The 64-year-old passed away while on a skiing holiday with his family.
“A professional volunteer and a good friend, who lead and motivated his hill crew with humour even in the most difficult situations, has left us”, Ski Club President and Head of the OC Jürgen Hensel said. “We are very sad and thinking about Wolfgang’s family.”
Schlüter had been Chief of Hill since 2006 and a member of the Ski Club Willingen for 54 years.
FIS would like to express its deepest condolences to Wolfgang Schlüter’s family, friends and the Organising Committee in Willingen.
