National Ski Associations are invited to submit nominations for candidates to the FIS Athletes’ Commission. The elections will be held during the respective FIS World Championships in 2019.
The Commission, which discusses and addresses issues concerning athletes in the six FIS Olympic disciplines, is the link between active athletes and FIS’ advisory and decision-making bodies.
Please note the deadline for nominating a candidate is:
Freestyle Skiing & Snowboard: 2nd January 2019
Alpine Skiing: 5th January 2019
Cross-Country, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined: 19th January 2019
The elected Athletes’ Commission members are part of the FIS Technical Committees in each FIS Olympic discipline. Since the summer of 2018, the Commission is also represented on the FIS Council with two voting positions.
Each of the six FIS Olympic disciplines will be represented by one female and one male representative. Following the elections, confirmation of the members will be carried out by the FIS Council at its meeting in May 2019.
To qualify as an eligible candidate, athletes must have competed at the FIS World Championships in 2015 or 2017, Olympic Winter Games in 2014 or 2018, or therefore at FIS World Cup level in season since 2014/2015.
