58 people, among them comedians, scientists, musicians and also three athletes have been recognised with the Bavarian Order of Merit in the region’s capital Munich (GER). Next to footballers Andreas Köpke and Stefan Reuter, Cross-Country Skier and German Ski Association Vice President Tobias Angerer received the award in a ceremony at the Residenz in Munich directly from Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder.
“With this award, we honour the manifold engagement of special people, who make Bavaria unique. Famous scientists, artists and athletes are ambassadors of Bavaria, far beyond its borders”, Söder said.
“I am thankful, proud and it is an honour to receive this recognition”, Angerer wrote on his Facebook page. “At the same time, it is motivation and a duty for me to keep up the good work also in the future.”
