The venue of Harrachov and it’s jumping hills, ranging from the smallest training hills, which have successfully hosted Nordic Combined Youth Cups in the past to the big ski flying hill is one of the most traditional places for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. The local ski club was founded in 1908.

Unfortunately, the constantly deteriorating state of these sports facilities and slow renovation efforts have led to their current closure for competition and training activity, a harsh blow for the local youth and children, as well as for international competition activity in the area.

The trio of Stanislav Slavík, Josef Slavík and Karel Dolejší, active in the club, in Nordic winter sports and as international competition officials in Nordic Combined decided to do something about it.

In order to preserve the ski jumping tradition in the area, they have opened a ski museum and now started a public collection of funds for the rescue of the jumping hills.

“The hills on the Teufelsberg in Harrachov have been here for exactly 100 years**.** All of our lives and even the ones of our fathers have been linked to the ski jumps in Harrachov. The Czech Republic hosted 37 World Cup events, seven FIS World Championship and countless other events here. This cannot be how this story ends”, the three men behind the idea said.

“Today, our young athletes have nowhere to train. We are realistic, the reconstruction and renovation of the entire facility has to be done by the state, but with this collection, we are aiming for the youth hills first and foremost.  They are irreplacable for Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping in the area.  It is our goal to allow kids to get back into training next already next season. We are optimistic that we can reach this goal and thank all of you for your help!”

Donation boxes have been put up in the area and the efforts will also be promoted at major events. International donations are collected in the following account: IBAN: CZ14 0800 0000 0057 0338 6379/0800

The collection is supported by patrons Adam Malysz, Pavel Ploc, Jakub Janda, Dalibor Motejlek and Harrachov’s partner cities, Sklarska Poreba and Frenštát.
