COC-M: Andreas Granerud Buskum takes a home win

In the first men's competition of the Continental Cup in Oslo (NOR) on Saturday afternoon, jumpers of Norway and Austrians were fighting for the top spots, in the end, local hero Andreas Granerud Buskum claimed a narrow win.
The 25-year-old Norwegian was second after the first half of the competition with 104.5 m, with a jump of 104 m in the final round and a total of 237.9 points, he could take his first-ever win in the Continental Cup. So far his best results in this competition series have been three second places.
Manuel Fettner of Austria had a close lead over the Norwegian after the first round with a 103 m jump, but his second jump of 102.5 m was then not enough to secure the top spot, he came in only 0.3 points behind today's winner.
With Timon-Pascal Kahofer, who finished third with 98 m and 103.5 m and 234.9 points, a second Austrian jumper made the podium on the Midtstubakken.
Today's Top 3 were followed by the next two Norwegian athletes, Fredrik Villumstad and Bendik Jakobsen Heggli, who came in fourth and fifth. Daniel Tschofenig, David Haagen, and Mika Schwann provided for a great team result of the Austrians in sixth, seventh, and eighth.
The successful day for the hosts was completed by Daniel Andre Tande, who showed a very good performance in his first competition after the serious crash at last season's World Cup final in Planica in March and finished ninth. "It was really nice to compete again. Of course, I was hoping for a bit better jumps, but it's a start and hopefully, it will be even better for me tomorrow. I was not more nervous than usual today, I was relaxed and just enjoyed my comeback in a competition", said Tande, who was not completely satisfied with his performance today.
The two best jumpers, who are not from Norway or Austria were Slovenia's Rok Masle in tenth and Eetu Nousiainen of Finland in 11th.
With his eighth place today, Mika Schwann defended his overall lead in the Continental Cup with now 477 points. Manuel Fettner (410 points) and Eetu Nousiainen (280 points ) follow in second and third.
The second competition in Oslo starts on Sunday at 12:45 pm CET.
