The summer season of the Continental Cup starts this weekend in Kuopio (FIN). Sunday's competition was rescheduled on short notice due to the bad weather forecast for tomorrow and so both competitions were held Saturday afternoon.

For David Siegel, the season couldn't have started any better. The 24-year-old German jumped on 118 m and 122 m and scored 188.9 points. This performance earned him the first win in the Continental Cup since 2018.

Local hero Eetu Nousiainen was eleventh after the first round with 114 m, with 125.5 m in the final round he could move up to second overall on his home hill. With 187.4 points he narrowly missed the win, but the second place was still a career-best for the 24-year-old.

Together with today's winner David Siegel, Moritz Baer, Philipp Raimund, and Justin Lisso provided for an outstanding team result for Germany in third, fourth, and fifth. The best of the Austrians was Stefan Rainer in seventh, followed by Switzerland's Andreas Schuler in seventh.
Thomas Lackner of Austria (8th), Giovanni Bresadola of Italy (9th), and Japan's Shinnosuke Fujita (10th) also finished in the Top 10.

In the second competition after only a short break, the hosts then had even more reason to celebrate. Eetu Nousiainen could show yet another strong performance and claimed his first-ever win in the Continental Cup with jumps of 124 m and 126.5 m and 225.4 points.

Moritz Baer also made it to the podium for a second time today. The German finished second with 123 m and 122.5 m and 218.6 points. His teammate Philipp Raimund, who missed the Top 3 in fourth earlier, came in third this time with 122.5 m and 124 m and 216.7 points.
The once again strong result of the German team was completed by David Siegel and Justin Lisso in sixth and tenth.

The Austrians also presented themselves in great shape: Thomas Lackner was fourth, Mika Schwann, Clemens Leitner, and Stefan Rainer came in seventh, eighth, and ninth.
Swiss Andreas Schuler confirmed his strong performances from the first competition as well and finished fifth.

After today's results in Kuopio, Eetu Nousiainen now leads the overall ranking of the COC with 180 points, Moritz Baer (140 points) and David Siegel (140 points) are tied for second.
The men's Continental Cup will continue on August 13th and 14th in Frenstat (CZE).
