Takanashi wins in Lillehammer, Kriznar leads RAW AIR

Sara Takanashi won the FIS Women's Ski Jumping World Cup on Wednesday evening in Lillehammer (NOR). In an exciting competition on the HS 140 hill, the record World Cup winner of Japan came in ahead of the Nika Kriznar and Ursa Bogataj of Slovenia. After the prologue earlier today, Kriznar leads the overall ranking of the RAW AIR after three jumps.
"I'm extremely happy about this win, I'm a bit lost for words right now", Takanashi said after her 62nd World Cup win. It's Takanashi's second win this season, the first was on January 1st in Ljubno (SLO). "I was very nervous after the Olympic Games and wasn't sure how I would do here, but I love this place and it worked great today, that's why I'm so happy", she added.
The second place went to Slovenia's Nika Kriznar, who was the best in the prologue this afternoon and now leads the RAW AIR overall. "I'm satisfied, but I'm also not happy about my first jump, I had a really bad landing with a big mistake and that cost me a lot of points. But I have to move on and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's competition", said Kriznar, who is in first in the overall ranking of the RAW AIR with 418.2 points, Takanashi follows in second with 413.1 points.
Olympic champion Ursa Bogataj, who was in the lead after the first round, came in third today. World Cup leader Marita Kramer was fourth, local hero Silje Opseth, Yuki Ito (JPN), and Frida Westman (SWE) came in fifth, sixth, and seventh. The best German was Luisa Goerlich in 16th. Juliane Seyfarth and Katharina Althaus, who both tested positive for Covid recently will join the German team tomorrow.
The second women's competition of the RAW AIR in Lillehammer will start tomorrow at 7:30 pm CET.
