In the two individual Ski Jumping competitions at the 28th Winter Universiade in Almaty (KAZ) three of the six medals went to athletes of Japan.
In the men's competition the gold medal went to Naoki Nakamura of Japan with 100 m and 99 m and a total of 265.8 points.
Mikhail Maksimochkin of Russia jumped on 98 m and 98.5 m and came in second with 263.4 points. This was already the sixth medal for the 23-year-old at a Universiade.
Austria's Thomas Lackner, fifth after the first round with 98.5 m, moved up to third with a second jump of 99.5 m and 261.2 points.
Japanese Haruka Iwasa won the ladies' competition with jumps of 90 m and 95 m and 212.6 points ahead of her teammate Yuka Kobayashi (91.5 m and 93.5 m; 200.2 points). The third place went to Marta Krepelkova of the Czech Republic with 198.8 points (93 m and 90.5 m).
Susanna Forsstroem was in the lead after the first round, but she lost her chances to win a medal with a fall after the landing of her second jump. At the end the Finn missed the podium by a bit more than ten points and was fourth.
