The end of the FIS World Cup season didn’t mean that all our skiers immediately headed off on holiday: there has been plenty of top competition at various national championships across the globe over the last few weeks. Here are some of the highlights.

Meillard hits heights for Swiss

The Swiss have dominated this season – and at their nationals, Loic Meillard followed up his excellent World Cup winter with victory in the GS. Gino Gaviezel got silver, and Patrick Feurstein took the bronze.

Over in the USA, Paula Moltzan caught the eye with a brilliant ski to be crowned GS national champion and got to celebrate with the “cutest fans”.

River Radamus (USA) is America’s leading male skier, and he reinforced that dominance by winning the GS and SG.

“Couple more hip drags for the road,” he said. “Secured the GS National Title yesterday after some hard battling with @bridger_gile and @georgesteffey. had so much fun on that hill in Sun Valley.”

Linus Strasser put down a marker in the German nationals, bossing the slalom with a classy run.

In Italy, Nicol Delago continued to show her class, winning the downhill and saying: “satisfied to end the season like this”.

Federica Brignone’s brilliant term continued, as she won the GS.

In the men’s field, Dominik Paris secured the men’s downhill, Guglielmo Bosca won the super-G and Luca De Aliprandini was superb as he took the GS title.

Marta Rossetti was victorious in the women’s slalom.

Over in Norway, Kajsa Vickhoff Lie won the women’s downhill and super-G. “Congrats to Marte Monsen with the silver and young gun Eva Johansen totally kicking ass and grabbing bronze,” she said. Lie also got bronze in the GS, which was won by Thea Stjernesund.

Finally, in France, Clara Direz won the GS, while Clement Noel was victorious in the men’s slalom.
