Stubai Glacier recently hosted a successful FIS-Banked Slalom development camp for Para snowboard athletes. The week-long camp provided valuable training opportunities for athletes of various ability levels, ranging from first-time racers to World Cup competitors.

Although fresh snow and limited visibility initially posed challenges for course riding early in the week, sunny skies eventually prevailed, allowing athletes to maximize their time on the track. A 10-berm course, designed by FIS para snowboard course consultant Hans Babilon, offered an excellent training environment for all participants.

Cold weather conditions permitted extended training days, enabling athletes from around the world to demonstrate significant improvement throughout the camp. Notably, the event welcomed four athletes from developing nations alongside eleven athletes representing four additional countries. One new athlete was even recruited after being spotted catching the bus to the glacier one morning.

With the positive outcome of this year's camp, organizers are optimistic that it will become a permanent fixture on the calendar for seasons to come. A heartfelt thank you is extended to all those who contributed to making the development camp a resounding success.
