Five-part series brings the speed, drama, and human stories of Alpine Skiing to Disney+ customers

Alpine Skiing enjoyed an unforgettable edition of the Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina 2026. Now, it is the time for fans around the world to keep following up-close personal stories and unprecedented behind-the-scenes insights into the sport’s biggest stars.

The 2025/26 season of the Audi FIS World Cup is being chronicled to a global audience like never before with landmark five-part documentary series On the Edge: World Cup Ski Racing, available to Disney+ customers in international markets following its U.S. debut on ESPN.

Following an international roster of elite athletes on the slopes and behind the scenes, the project spans across several of the most iconic stops on this season’s FIS World Cup tour — Beaver Creek, Courchevel, Kitzbühel, Wengen, Flachau — before culminating in the season finale in Lillehammer, Norway, in March.

On the Edge captures not only how Alpine Ski racing is evolving as a truly global sport, but also why it remains so extraordinary.Johan Eliasch, FIS President

“Set against some of the most dramatic landscapes in the world, this series tells the human stories behind the speed, risk and precision of World Cup racing — the dedication, resilience and passion that define our athletes far beyond the finish line," said FIS President Johan Eliasch. "By bringing these stories to life, projects like this help connect new audiences to the beauty and intensity of our sport, while driving its continued growth following the unbelievable success of Milano Cortina 2026.”

Production

On the Edge is directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Pat Dimon and produced by Bright North USA and by FIS in collaboration with the Stifel U.S. Ski Team and Team USA.

"Growing up a lifelong skier in Vermont, I learned that what matters most often happens away from the gates and finish line,” said director Pat Dimon. “On the Edge is about seeing past the polished surface and dropping into the real line of World Cup racing—the grind of travel, the toll of injuries, the pressure, and the mindset it takes to be and stay at that level.”

On the Edge: World Cup Ski Racing premiered on January 30 on the ESPN app and on ESPN on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the United States. The series also launched on Disney+ across select markets in EMEA, APAC and Canada, with the first four episodes available to stream now.

Additional markets across EMEA and LATAM will launch this Friday, February 20, with the first three episodes, featuring athletes like Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, Lindsey Vonn, Franjo von Allmen, Marco Odermatt, Mikaela Shiffrin, Sofia Goggia, and others.

The deciding stages of the FIS World Cup, as well as the Olympic Winter Games, will chronicle in episode 5 (launch date currently TBC).
