Less than 160 days to go! The countdown to the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Crans-Montana 2027 is gathering momentum, with the biggest event of the 2026/27 alpine season getting closer by the day.

From the 1st to 14 th February 2027, the world’s best alpine skiers will come together in the Swiss Alps to battle for World Championship glory across the full range of alpine disciplines. Over two weeks of competition, Crans-Montana will provide the stage for the sport’s biggest stars and the next generation of champions to compete on the world stage.

For the host resort, the Championships represent a major moment in its long-standing relationship with alpine skiing. Forty years after Crans-Montana hosted the World Championships in 1987, the event returns to the Valais region, creating an opportunity to write a new chapter in the destination’s rich skiing history.

To celebrate this milestone, the big champions of 1987 came together with stars from today’s generation and the rising stars of tomorrow. Alongside legends such as Pirmin Zurbriggen, Erika Hess and Didier Défago, the gathering featured current stars Michelle Gisin and Franjo von Allmen, as well as promising young talents from local ski clubs – bringing together generations of athletes who embody Crans-Montana’s enduring connection to alpine skiing.

With less than 160 days remaining, preparations are entering an important phase. The venues, infrastructure and wider event organisation are taking shape as Crans-Montana gets ready to welcome athletes, teams, officials, media, partners and thousands of fans from around the world.

Beyond the racing, the Championships promise to be a celebration of alpine skiing and the unique atmosphere that surrounds a major home event. From the competition venues to the fan experience across the resort, Crans-Montana 2027 will bring the sport together both on and off the slopes.

The countdown is on, the excitement is building and the world’s best are getting ready.
