It was decision day on the Tour de Ski 2021 at the prestigious Final Climb to Alpe Cermis. Val di Fiemme (ITA) had set the stage for exciting competitions. All eyes were on the current Tour leader Jessie Diggins (USA) as she managed to race out a margin of 54 seconds in the previous 7 stages of the Tour before Yulia Stupak (RUS). Diggins managed to keep up front with the strong push by the Swedish duo Linn Svahn and Ebba Andersson who led the way to the bottom of Alpe Cermis.

Right at the foot of the tough climb, Andersson set out and broke away from the successors. Diggins kept up with a gap just under 10 seconds. The strong climbers left all competition behind racing to their victories.

Ebba Andersson crosses the finish line of Alpe Cermis after 36:45 minutes and wins her maiden World Cup victory. Jessie Diggins follows 9.2 seconds after and sets a milestone to her career by winning the Tour de Ski 2021. An outstanding Delphine Claudel (FRA) follows the winners with a 32 second gap and grabs a very special first World Cup podium on Alpe Cermis. Yulia Stupak follows in fourth position, 40 seconds behind Andersson and thus still with a fast enough time to reach the second rank in the Overall Tour de Ski standing.

"This is still sinking in. It has been a career long goal forever and especially cool to show that you can also do it coming from the US. That also that you can be happy and fast and it is so special to be here with my team and I just have to say thank you!"Tour de Ski winner 2021
