Federica Brignone Ambassador for Corty, Cortina 2021 Mascot

Federica Brignone will be the Ambassador for Corty, Cortina 2021 mascot. The cute, red squirrel soft toy was specially made by Trudi for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, which will be held in Cortina from 7th to 21st February 2021.
“I’m very happy and proud to have been chosen as the ambassador for Corty, the mascot of such a major event, to which we Italians are really looking forward,” stated Federica Brignone, the first Italian female skier to ever win a World Cup overall title.
“Together with Trudi, I’ve decided to donate my remuneration to give a scholarship to a young, talented Italian alpine skier who will be chosen according to some rules that we are setting out.”
The company from Friuli-Venezia Giulia has produced high-quality soft toys for over 65 years and has designed and made the Cortina 2021 mascot holding onto its dominant values—creativity, design and handicraft. Corty is cute and charming and in Federica Brignone’s arms while she celebrates he will win the hearts of adults and children, thus becoming a must-have of the event.

The marriage between Trudi and Federica is simply perfect.
They both share a great passion for sport, a deep love for children and young people, they both are inspiring examples of dedication and success. Now they are getting ready to celebrate Alpine Skiing in Italy together through one of the most prestigious alpine skiing events, i.e. the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships.
As Corty Ambassador, Federica Brignone joins the team of Fondazione Cortina 2021—the organising committee of the next FIS Alpine World Ski Championships scheduled from 7th to 21st February 2021 at the foot of Tofane—in the run-up to the international event. Besides being very close to Cortina d’Ampezzo, Federica is one of the greatest champions ever in Italy’s alpine skiing history. Last season she won two discipline titles—Alpine combined and Giant Slalom—and became the first Italian woman to win the Overall title. With her 1,378 points in the overall standings, she broke the historic record held by Alberto Tomba.
She has achieved many other great results throughout her career so far. She took Olympic bronze in Giant Slalom at PyeongChang 2018, won a silver at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2011 and has claimed 39 WC podium finishes and 15 WC wins so far. Together with Isolde Kostner, Federica is the second-winningest Italian female skier in World Cup history behind Deborah Compagnoni.
