There are many young skiers performing at top level and aiming to steadily compete in the World Cup, but who will be the ones to make it?
With a new video series, we want to introduce six of the strongest young athletes, who have achieved big results in the past season and might establish themselves as the main players of the World Cup in the next few years.
Atle Lie Mc Grath, NOR
Despite counting already nine World Cup starts (two top-30 finishes), Atle stole the show in the Europa Cup last season. The Norwegian talent, born in 2000, won the Overall Europa Cup title, finishing first in the Giant Slalom standings, second in Slalom and Alpine Combined and fourth in Super-g. Will he be competing for top positions in the World Cup already this season?
Sara Rask, SWE
Born in 2000, Sara won the 2019/20 Europa Cup Giant Slalom title and the Giant Slalom gold medal at the 2020 Junior World Ski Championships in Narvik. Inspired by Frida Hansdotter, will she manage to follow in her footsteps?
Adam Hofstedt, SWE
Adam was born in 2002 and in early January, at the age of 17, he won 2 gold medals (Super-g and Slalom) and one bronze medal (Alpine Combined) at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne. Is he one of the strongest allrounders to watch out for?
Nadine Fest, AUT
Austrian Nadine Fest was born in 1998 and won the 2019/20 Overall Europa Cup title. Adrenaline is one of the aspects of skiing she likes the most and she tries to learn from Matthias Mayer. Last season she achieved two top-30 results; will the 2020/21 be her season?
Who is next?
Watch out for the last two stars, one is also Austrian and won 3 gold medals at the 2020 Junior World Ski Championships in Narvik and the other one performed incredibly well at the 2020 Youth Olympic Winter Games in her home country. Do you know who we are talking about?
