The 34-year-old Swiss skier, Beat Feuz, returned to Kitzbühel on Tuesday 17 August, to receive his “own” gondola. He might not officially own the gondola, but a gondola of the legendary Hahnenkammbah has been dedicated to him. A gondola is rewarded to every Hahnenkam winner, whether they competed in Downhill, Super G or Slalom.

In January 2021, Feuz won both Downhill races which took place on the Streif, which has led him to be this year’s winner of the gondola. Upon receiving his gondola, Feuz said that, “being here today is much more relaxing that in winter.” The Swiss skier is no stranger to the Kitzbühel resort, as he has already placed in the top 3 eight times during his career. Feuz placed 2nd in 2020, 2019, 2018, 2016 and 2012 and finished 3rd in 2017. Finally, his time came, he won 1st in a spectacular style by winning both races back in January of 2021.

Sitting on two victories from 2021, we look forward to seeing what Feuz has in store for the upcoming season and to see whether he can hold onto his double wins.
