Having just married and about to become a father, slalom specialist Dave Ryding (GBR) looks back on what he says, "This is undoubtedly the best year of my life".
Indeed, he has just celebrated his first World Cup Victory this winter on January 22 and became Britain's first World Cup winner at age 35.
As is the tradition, The Hahnenkamm's winners received their dedicated gondola last week; it was Dave's turn to celebrate this unforgettable moment.
On May 27, the slalom specialist returned to Kitzbühel to the scene of his greatest sporting triumph to celebrate by receiving his very own signed gondola.
His victory on the Ganslernhang Slope is an achievement also held in great esteem by Lord Colin Moynihan, Britain's official ski representative in Kitzbühel: "Dave's slalom win has inspired for generations to come."
