Before even starting, the Hahnenkamm loses one of its biggest favourites. Dominik Paris (ITA) suffered an ACL injury this morning and has to prematurely end his season.

During a super-G training session, which took place this morning in Kirchberg, not far from Kitzbuehel, Dominik Paris slipped into a curve and crashed.

After performing X-rays and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at a clinic in Kitzbuehel and after consulting with the FISI Medical Commission, the diagnosis reports a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee and a microfracture of the fibula head.

"My season ends here - said Paris -. Unfortunately while I was sliding, the inside ski caught too much and the ligament broke. There is not much to add. In the next few days we will evaluate, together with the medical staff, how to proceed. "

Paris will return home for some rest and will consult the FISI Medical Commission again in the coming days.

These are the kind of news that we would never want to share. We wish Paris a proper and speedy recovery and hope to see him soon where he belongs: on the speed courses!
